1964  Charlie Bell ** BellChas@aol.com  Since graduating in 64 I have enjoyed a long career in the foodservice industry. I started my career with KFC in the Grand Rapids area for 5 years. The next 20 years were spent developing the Wendy's chain Nationwide.  I started as Manager of the 10th Wendy's and ended owner of 26 Wendy's in San Diego, Ca.  Always one eager to develop and grow different concepts I sold the Wendy's and spent 5 years in Florida developing Kenny Rogers Roasters Chicken concept. I have enjoyed my years in the Foodservice industry as it has allowed me to live in 13 different States and travel Internationally. I even had the tough job of living in the US Virgin Islands for 5 years. For the past 6 years My wife of 26 years Robin, my son Brendyn, and I live in Las Vegas where we own and operate 3 Steakhouses. We love the area and plan to retire here. I follow the Bell tradition of making a career in the Foodservice industry. My Father said "Son, you will never get extremely rich, but you won't starve." How true that is. If your travels bring you to Vegas, look me up.
1964  Patricia Maynard ** critterridge@webtv.net   (Boettcher)  I married Larry Maynard after attending one year of college at Loyola University in Chicago. We divorced in 1972. I am now living in Duke, Mo., population of about 57,  not   57,000, just 57. I am a lead substance abuse technician at the CSTAR program in Rolla, Mo. I am the house manager for two houses with a total of sixteen clients. Great job. I have a small "farmette" named Critterridge. I have pot-bellied pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, dogs, and a cat. They keep me pretty busy. I am going to be raising fainting or myatonic goats. Very interesting critters. It would be great to hear from my classmates.               Ake wacinyankin kte           Mitakuye Oyasin
1964  David Gillette ** dgillette@MNA.mus.az.us   (Duane)  I graduated from Michigan State in 1967 in Biology, then went to Southern Methodist University for my PhD in Geology. After conducting my PhD research at the Smithsonian Institution I graduated from SMU in 1974. I am now a vertebrate paleontologist, and my specialties in research are dinosaurs and Ice Age mammals such as mammoths and ground sloths. I am a curator of geology/paleontology at the Museum of Northern Arizona (Flagstaff, Arizona), where I spend most of my time conducting fieldwork excavations of dinsosaurs and lab-oriented research for publications. I've had a wonderful career, with lots of international adventures and some spectacular good luck. One, "Seismosaurus, The Earth Shaker" published by Columbia University Press, is about the excavation and related adventures in my discovery of the longest-known dinosaur, and it's written for the general public. I often remember my days at Brandywine, all my friends there, and all our great teachers too.   P.S.   I now go by my first name, David, rather than Duane (my middle name) as I was known at Brandywine.
1964  Chuck Hoffman ** chuckhoffman@acicommercial.com    Known as Charlie Hoffman in Niles, I became Chuck Hoffman when I went to college.  I attended Bell School and then Brandywine until after 9th grade when we moved into the City of Niles.  I graduated from Niles High in 1964 and Northwestern University in 1968.  After college I moved to California to be near my brother Greg who was attending USC.  A low draft number encouraged me to sign up for the Naval Reserve and was activated in 1970 and spent three years at Los Alamitos Naval Air Station and Point Magu Naval Air station both in California.  After the Navy I moved to San Diego and have stayed.  I've been in real estate since I arrived in San Diego.  I was on track to retire in the early 90s, but the real estate market crashed and I lost all that I had accumulated.  To say the least there have been many life lessons since Niles including divorce and near bankruptcy.  I currently have a daughter who is a sophomore in high school and my wife Cindy has a daughter who is a junior in high school.  My wife and I are very involved with all of the activities of our daughters.  Each of them is now preparing themselves for college and within two years we will become empty nesters. My wife and I love to travel and are both private pilots.  We enjoy flying in our plane to fun destinations throughout the West Coast.  We've also flown to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the annual air show.  In the summer of 2004 we took a family trip (not in our plane) to the Midwest and visited Niles and Northern Michigan.  I ran into neighbors on Beeson road where I lived when I went to Brandywine.  My daughters loved seeing where I lived when I grew up.  I also traveled back in July of 2004 to attend the 40 year reunion of the Niles High School Class of 1964.  My plans were to attend the Brandywine reunion in 2005, but I ended up with a conflict.  I have fond memories of my time in Niles and those who I knew.
1964  Adrienne Juhasz Ramos ** Ade1735@aol.com    Married 35 years this October to Silvester Ramos. We have two beautiful girls Tracy and Kelly. Also four granddaughters that we enjoy very much. Now you talk about never leaving Brandywine. I have been driving school bus for 23 yearts for Brandywine. I love my job and never get tired of driving into the school. Still see my favorite teacher once in awhile Mr. Monette of course he taught me how to drive.

1964  Jack Owicki ** jack@owicki.com   It's hrad to summarize thirty-eight years in a short paragraph! My wife, Susan, and I met at Michigan State and married in 1968. We waited to have kids for quite a while, but ended up having two: Eleanor is a freshman at NYU, and Jonathan is a junior in high school. Those of you who remember me won't be surprised to hear that I have had a scientific career. After military service during the Viet Nam war interrupted my graduate studies, I obtained a Ph.D in biophysical chemistry at Cornell in 1977. We moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and have been here ever since. I became Associate Professor of Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley but left there after nine years to move to Palo Alto (an hour south of San Francisco) and try my hand at biotech in Silicon Valley. Eventually, I became V.P. for Research  at a company that makes systems for pharmaceutical drug discovery. Silicon Valley is something of a pressure cooker, though, and three years ago I quit to found a one-person consulting firm. In the unlikely event that you want to learn more about my consulting, check out  http://www.owicki.com   The consulting has been great: I have a flexible schedule, get to do some teaching, and have been able to spend more time with my kids as they get ready to leave home. I'm pretty bald now )not to mention overweight) but have abeard to compensate. My family and I have generally enjoyed good health. I miss fireflies (don't think there are any on the West Coast), good lilacs (ours are pretty miserable), and autumns with chrysanthemums and crisp nights at football games. I don't miss cold winters and hot, humid summers, and hordes of mosquitoes and deer flies. My favorite activity is singing, particularly in the local Unitarian-Universalist church choir. Jeez, this is beginning to sound like a personal ad! Anyway, my last strong tie to Niles ended when my mother died three years ago. I'd be very happy to hear from my old classmates.  Best regards,  Jack Owicki, Brandywine '64.

1964  Ralph Vosburgh, Jr. ** wefour@cablespeed.com    After teaching junior high science at Brandywine for twenty-five years I retired in 1993. I became a certified scuba diver and travel often. I also play a little tennis and video tape fires and rescues for our local fire department.
