Barbara (Curtis) Satkoski, (Class of 1970)....worked at Simplicity Pattern Company till Summer of 1971. Then, went on a 2 week vacation and flew to San Fransisco, California to visit my 8th grade teacher and his family. Mac and the Mrs took me to the Geary theatre in Frisco for the 1st showing of the musical play, HAIR. It was definately a hair-raising experience, since the actors wore no clothes during some of it....as well as seeing Disneyland, Universal Studios, Fisherman's Wharf, and more! Months later, I met my 1st husband (Larry Hyche) from Buchanan, then followed him to Camp Pendleton, California Marine Corps base, where we married in December 1971. Also went to visit Mr Mac again and this time he had re-married. Larry and I had 1 daughter, Lisa in 1974. We divorced in 1976. I Married my 2nd hubby Ron in 1983 and have lived in Niles, on a small mini farm to present, (Sept.2005), where we've had a lovely life and share a total of 7 wonderful grandchildren. Some of you already know my hubby. As it turns out he fixed a few bicycles in his day, for those of you living around the Copp Road area. Ron is Larry Roberta Million's half brother. Also, just for grins...Ron was one of the Ironworker's who helped to put the addition on LaSalle School (now Merritt), when I was in the 5th grade! (Are you doing your math?) My favorite Elementary teachers were Miss Edge Mr Merritt. Jr high favorite was Mr. MacDonald who took a bunch of us to Tower Hill a few times, and if I recall, Carlos and Dale dug up a chest, and I think it had beer in it...however, I cannot remember if they got to drink it or not...ha!ha! And My high school favorites were Mr. Williams, Mr. Garcia and I certainly cannot forget Mr. Monette, who has made it to several of my garage sales, in past years. I still keep in touch with school chums, Beverly Bartlett, Kathie (Brown) Banicki, Bev (Stevenson) Sheldon, and Lynette (Capparrell) Wright. We try not to let too much time go by between visits and always enjoy catching up on all the lastest happenings in our lives. The hardest cross to bear these past years has been in losing loved ones....1st my younger brother Rob in 1986, and then our folks. Losing my Mother, my best friend in '95 was THE worst thing I ever had to endure. Some of you may remember how we use to sit out on our front porch in Fulkerson Park with ice cream scoops as microphones and sing songs, and we would beg my mom to yodel...And then there was the time my Mother and step-dad, all dressed to the nines, crashed one of our teen-age parties, Bev Bartletts, I think, and the girls were lined up to dance with my dad, and him in those white shoes!. (Ugh! I was sooo embarrassed!!), and also at another party, my Mama put her bra in a paper sack, for musical sack or something, and to my horror....one of the Watson boys, got the bag and had to wear that bra! My oh my, it was always something! I had a lot of wonderful memories growing up, during our Brandywine years. I'd like to thank Jim Albin for setting up this website. It has been a real treat to see how you all have been doing. I hope more of our class mates find this site. To all of you who have touched my life in one way or another through the years, all I can say is .....Thank-you, and God Bless!
