1966
After graduating from Brandywine in 1966, I worked at Kawneer for three months and then went into the Navy. I went to boot camp in San Diego from October 66 to January 67. I was assigned to the U.S.S.Sterrett DLG 31 which was guided missile frigate. We fired the first Talos missile from a ship of its size. I then went to the U.S.S. Edson DD946. I went on a West Pac Cruse to Viet Nam came back. I met my wife on board the Edson during a dependence cruise when my best friend was dating her best friend and she invited Kathie my wife along so she would not have to go alone on board a ship with over three hundred sailors. My wife Kathie and I have been married almost thirty three years. We have two daughters, Staci 32 and Shauna 29. Staci has a son three named Karrick and a Daughter six months named Rylee. My youngest Daughter Shauna has a daughter Juhlya age seven and a daught Lyndsea age six. Financially I may have not been so successful, I have a lot of ups and downs, but I am very rich. I have a wonderful wife, great daughters who married really great husbands and I have the best grand children that you can have. We all get together often and we live pretty close to each other which is great. I live in Glendora, California now in the same house for twenty four years and have had the same phone number for over thirty years. I am currently managing a retail outlet in a huge Mall in Glendale, California which is fun at times and a head ache at other times, but it is a living and I am thankful to have a job when so many of my country men are out of work. I hope to hear from any and all of those of you who would like to contact me. God Bless. Dennis Butterfield
