now in 2002
I have resigned my position with the insurance company I've been with for the
past four-and-a-half years. After 32 years in the corporate world, it's time to
move on. I have begun a new career as Director of Community Outreach for the
Dane County Humane Society in Madison, Wisconsin. This is an opportunity that
at the same time excites me beyond imagination and frightens me more than any
new job I've ever started. But I can think of no better way for me to spend the
next 10 years or more than to make a difference in the lives of animals. I
will be filling one of two new leadership positions created at the Humane
Society...one responsible for animal care and welfare, and the other for the
'people' side of what we do. My responsibilities for all that happens 'outside'
the walls of the shelter include public relations, marketing, community
relations, education, development and fund raising, membership development,
volunteer coordination, customer service, and building maintenance.
